A Little Bit of Fashion and a Whole Lot of Realness

TOPSHOP Oversized Denim Jacket (Brandy one is sold out) || WILFRED Jara Cashmere Sweater || THE GROUP Jimmy Pant || COMMON PROJECTS Achilles Sneaker

Hello everyone!

Today’s post is a little bitta fashion and a whole lotta realness. Recently I’ve been struggling to keep up with life. There, I said it. Life is crazy. I keep finding myself spreading myself too thin and feeling incredibly overwhelmed. I work in retail so the holiday season is WILD and it’s been hard to find time to throw myself into things I love. I’m tired Y’all! That being said, StyLin has always been something that I LOVE dearly and feel like should never take a back seat. As cheesy as it sounds it’s my escape from reality. Cliché… I know. StyLin manifests itself in many aspects of my life, the most obvious being my love for fashion. Creating and styling looks are my FAV, so today I decided to take a step back and style a look that I feel is truly me right now. No glitz, no glam. Just a woman in her 20’s working till (her personal) weekend.

If I had to choose to be one piece of clothing for the rest of my life it would hands down be a turtleneck (a blazer coming in at a close second). They’re cozy, super stylish, and so comfy. So you can imagine why I’m literally living in them right now (both at work and on my days off). I’m OBSESSED with the yellow cashmere one from Artiza that I styled for this post. And no,  pastel colors are not limited to the spring and summer months. To complete this “day off” look I threw on my oversized denim jacket from Brandy Melville and these “joggers” from Artizia.

In all seriousness, I think your 20’s are a time to let crazy life do its thing. Seriously, all we can do is take it day by day. Celebrate the highs, and drink wine and cry with your best friends during the lows.

The best thing about fall is LAYERS. Layers and jackets. If you know me, one thing (aside from sweaters) I’m addicted to buying is coats. However, I’ve recently been making an effort to take a step back and really invest in pieces that I will hold a special place in my closet for a long time. I’ve always loved denim jackets, so it seemed only natural to add a more fall appropriate one to the collection. I was initially intrigued when I first laid eyes on a gorgeous reverse shearling jacket by Veronica Beard. One of my favorite bloggers, The August Diaries, shared it on her Instagram and I was immediately obsessed. Yet, I couldn’t bring myself to splurge on a piece that I didn’t know if I could pull off. So I decided to wait, and I’m so glad I did because this Topshop coat is amazing! It’s a great price and it’s SO cute. I chose to style it with more denim to play up the Canadian tuxedo and create a fresh fall silhouette. I LOVE this coat and I know I’m going to be wearing it all fall and winter!

Fall/ Winter Staple: Wool Coat

ARITZIA Steadman Coat || ARITZIA Titus Sweater || LEVI’S Wedgie Ripped Straight Jeans || AQUATALIA Carie Weatherproof Bootie || CHELSEA 28 Izzy Faux Leather Bucket Bag

Happy Thursday everyone!

It’s finally chilly season in Seattle and I’ve been stocking up on my fall and winter essentials! If you know me I LOVE layering. My number one essential is hands down a long wool coat. There’s something so chic and effortless about them AND they’re super warm. The latest addition to my closet is this gorgeous virgin wool blend coat by Babaton from Aritzia. I went with the black color because I think it matches everything and I somehow didn’t already have a black coat in my wardrobe. I chose to style it casually for today’s post by popping on a turtleneck sweater and Levi’s jeans. This coat also goes great with a blouse, business trousers and a killer pair of pumps!
